The 2006 WCET COMPETITION Two WCET benchmark suites have recently become available, one from Mälardalen, one from York. They consist of programs of different types suitable for WCET tests. A competition will be held in different branches of WCET analysis, like Flow Analysis (automatically found loop bounds and infeasible paths), User-Friendliness (number of manual annotations, preparation work necessary, ease in defining input data) and in Performance (tightness of WCET estimate, limits of program sizes to be handled, analysis speed and memory requirements). The procedures for the competition will be discussed at WCET 2006 workshop in Dresden: - the work group suggestions are presented - a decision is made on the form and content of the competition - it will be based on a general agreement - the time frame for running the competition will be decided. - a (set of) processor(s) will be selected to create common binaries for, - a (set of) compiler(s) will be determined to create common binaries with, - binaries using suitable compiler flags will be created, - "facits" (correct values) will be created whenever possible. Starting points will be the programs in the benchmark sets. A subset of these will be selected for the competition. Larger ones are to be identified for realistic test cases. A work group is being set up (3 - 4 persons). The time schedule will be: - An announcement is sent out during spring 2006 - The group discusses and prepares suggestions for a competition in the autumn of 2006 - The competition is discussed at WCET 2006 workshop - Rules of the game, document standards etc. are defined - Results are presented at ISoLA 2006 in November.
